More than 2,100 pounds of marijuana is off the streets after a seizure made south of the border near Miguel Aleman.
Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that the seizure was made along the banks of the Rio Grande around 4 p.m. Sunday.
According to a statement released on Wednesday morning, SEDENA officials said soldiers were patrolling the river in the Pobaldo Los Guerra when they made the discovery.
SEDENA officials reported that soldiers found 91 bundles with more than 2,100 pounds of marijuana.
Authorities believe that the marijuana is worth about $48.2 million pesos or $3.9 million dollars on the streets.
No arrests were made but the case remains under federal investigation.
Miguel Aleman is located across the Rio Grande from Roma in Starr County.
