More than 3200 pounds of pot seized in Hidalgo, Starr Counties

Border Patrol agents seized more than 3200 pounds of marijuana worth en estimated $2.5 million in several seizures on Thursday.

The largest seizure was in Mission, where agents found 24 bundles hidden throughout the brush.

They also arrested one man on site, as he was fleeing the area.

Agents initially received a call about suspicious activity in the area where they found the bundles totaling more than 2000 pounds.

Elsewhere, agents also seized more than 1000 pounds in Starr County, including 500 pounds near the Rio Grande in Escobares.

The drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency.
