McAllen police have identified a man who wanted for shooting a 19-year-old woman in the face and leaving her in a motel room.
Investigators told Action 4 News that 24-year-old Javier Valles Jr. is wanted on a criminal attempted murder charge.
McAllen police were at the La Casita Motel at 120 South 4th Street where the 19-year-old woman was found inside a motel room.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the woman was found by housekeeping staff around 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the woman was shot and wounded in her face.
Paramedics rushed the woman to a local hospital where she's listed in serious condition.
According to police radio communictions, Valles fled the scene in a grey Chrysler car. The vehicle was reportedly last seen headed to Mexico.
Valles has a criminal record that includes serving four years in prison for aggravated robbery.
