The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Freeze Warning for the entire Viewing Area: Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Brooks, Willacy, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, and Zapata counties.
One of the coldest nights so far is headed to Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
The cold front pushed through late last night and is now filtering in a much colder air mass.
Winds today will be out of the north around 20-30mph.
Highs today will be in the low to mid 60's across the Valley.
Tonight, several hours of subfreezing temperatures are expected across rural locations.
Temperatures will quickly fall through the 40s and into the 30s by midnight everywhere.
Winds continuing at 10 mph will make it feel even colder, closer to the 20's in many areas, between midnight and 3 AM.
Winds are expected to become light after 3 AM allowing temperatures to fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Residents venturing out tonight should bundle up in several layers of warm clothing.
Any Plants outside, should be brought indoors.
