An illegal immigrant is recovering in a local hospital after falling from a section of the border fence in Brownsville.

Investigators tell Action 4 News that it all happened near the B&M International Bridge early Wedneday morning.

Two men were trying to climb a section of the 18-foot border fence when they were spotted by authorities.

One of the men made it to the American side of the fence and fled but was caught.

The other man fractured his foot after landing on it incorrectly.

The immigrant was taken to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville for medical treatment.
