Six people are behind bars after authorities found close to two tons of marijuana at a stash house down the street from PSJA High School.
U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested the six people on federal drug charges on Tuesday.
ICE agents raided a home on the 500 block of Hunee Drive, located in a neighborhood at the southeast corner of El Gato and I Roads.
Investigators found bundles with about 3,900 pounds of marijuana throughout the home and inside a van at the San Juan home.
Court records identified the suspects as:
• Luis Gonzalez
• Fernando Laredo, Jr
• Rodolfo Laredo
• Rolando A. Rodriguez
• Gilda Ovalle-Castillo
• Maria Gonzalez
The records show that they all had different roles related to the stash house ranging from armed guards, bundle wrappers and drug mules.
Some of the suspects were involved in traveling to Chicago and Indianapolis where they would bring back $15,000 to $20,000 dollars in cash.
Court records show that they would get to keep $600 to 1,000 dollars for themselves.
All six suspects appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos on Wednesday morning.
Gonzalez was identified as a legal permanent resident of the United States while the other five suspects are all American citizens.
Judge Ramos denied bond for all of them until a Monday morning hearing.
