A Harlingen man spent his Thanksgiving behind bars after robbing a convenience store on Wednesday night.
Harlingen Police arrested 23-year-old Gilbert Vasquez Castro and charged him with aggravated robbery for stealing nearly $200 from the Shamrock gas station on the 600 block of Harrison Ave.
At about 9:00 p.m. Vasquez walked in to the gas station displaying a knife and demanding money.
After the store manager handed him the cash, Vasquez took off.
Shortly after, an investigation led Harlingen police officers to a home on 4th and Monroe Streets.
Officers found Vasquez hiding in the back room of the home.
He was arrested and arraigned Friday morning.
His bond was set at $250,000.
