A driver speeding 16 miles per hour over a posted school speed limit refused to identify herself after she was “zapped” on radar outside John H. Shary Elementary School in Mission.
The speeder was one of a number of other motorists busted by the Speedzapper Tuesday afternoon following a call 4 action by parents whose kids attend the school.
Jennifer Moreno and Charlotte Hocott teamed up to tackle the issue of student safety due to reckless drivers who don’t obey the speed limit.
“How are they gonna feel when they [speeders] hurt a child,” Moreno asked?
The parents contacted the Speedzapper to highlight the importance of drivers slowing down through the school zone.
“Who knows when a child may get out and then a driver comes speeding down this road… it’s just terrible,” Hocott said.
The Speedzapper witnessed drivers speeding 10, 15—even 20 miles per hour over the limit.
