Brownsville police are searching for a man who robbed a bank on the city's northside on Sunday afternoon.

Police told Action 4 News that the IBC Bank located inside the Wal-Mart off Boca Chica and Old Port Isabel Road was robbed.

Investigators said it all took place around 1 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect handed a teller a note demanding money.

The man fled the scene in a white or gray Buick LeSabre with an unspecified amount of cash.

Police said the suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early 30s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 165 to 200 pounds with a moustache and goatee.

The man was last seen wearing a Texas Longhorns baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a white sweater hoodie. Witnesses said he had a tattoo on his left wrist.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-TIPS or (956) 546-8477.
