Heads turned toward the sky in Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon.

A series of white dots in the sky drew thousands of onlookers.

Many reported them as possible UFOs but the New York Police Department suspects they were just balloons of some kind.

The sight still left a lot of people wondering.
