Television has been progressing from black and white, to color, standard definition to now high definition -- now even 3D. Do you have a flat-screen TV yet?
While you may find absolutely no reason to get rid of your outdated TV, here's something to keep in mind if you're thinking of upgrading - or adding another flat-screen this year.
According to iSuppli, a market research company, LCD TV manufacturers are going to flood the market with new tvs. And prices are going to fall - a lot.
One prediction is that on this year's "Black Friday," 32-inch LCD TVs could drop to an average price $249 and $299. Some as low as two hundred bucks. Right now, they sell for an average of 350 to 400 dollars.
It's the basic economics of supply and demand. When there's a whole bunch of supply, prices will fall.
Eventually, the back log is going to be absorbed and these TV prices could come back up some. That could take about 3 months. So, if you do the math... that means you should really try to upgrade your television by the end of the year. Perhaps, maybe, a gift for the holidays.
