Border Security is a hot issue in this upcoming Texas Governor's race.

Democratic candidate for Governor Bill White just rolled out a plan to secure our borders.

White just released his plan to secure the US/Mexico Border.

Addressing the media White told reporters Texas needs to do a better job to secure our borders.

White announced his six point border security plan which includes funding an additional 1,000 law enforcement positions and 250 state troopers using federal grants, state appropriations and additional drug forfeiture dollars.

White also says state appropriations need to be used more effectively.

On a side note there's been a lot of controversy surrounding a public debate between Bill White and Governor Rick Perry.

Perry says he won't debate unless White releases all of his tax returns by September 15th.

Perry has released all his income taxes dating back to 1987.

By the way the candidates have been invited to an October 19th media sponsored debate.
