Whatever game you play, there are always quick tips you can use to improve your score.

There are also simple things you can do to improve a much more important score: your credit score.

Now, you're not going to get immediate results, but there are things you can do to clean up that credit score in as little as two to three months.

Step one? Pull your credit history and remove negatives that are dragging down your score.

Go to annualcreditreport.com and get a copy of your credit history.

Now, if you see things in your record that are mistakes or things that might not be able to be verified, challenge them!

Step two: pay down high balance cards.

The idea is to have your balances at no more than 30% of your available limit.

So if you've got a $1,000 credit limit, you really don't want to be owing more than 300 bucks on it.

Can't come up with the cash?

Then try step three: increase your credit limits to accomplish the same thing.

If you owe $1,000, call the bank and raise your credit limit to $3,000.

Now, there are things you don't want to do. Things that could actually sink your score.

Example?

You certainly don't want to take out new credit. And don't close unused accounts.

That's your quick guide to raising your credit score, but there's more waiting for you right here at moneytalksnews.com.
