Two Brownsville men are behind bars after police allegedly caught them in the middle of a crack cocaine deal outside a busy Southmost supermarket.
Brownsville police arrested 21-year-old Arnold Gonzalez and 21-year-old Candelario Ramirez on public intoxication charges on Wednesday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News that police received a tip about a drug deal taking place in the parking lot of the H-E-B supermarket off Southmost Road.
Officers arrived and found a brown Jeep Grand Cherokee where investigators allegedly saw the them in the middle of what looked like a drug deal.
Police arrested both Gonzalez and Ramirez on public intoxication charges because they both appeared to be high on marijuana.
Investigators later charged Gonzalez with possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Gonzalez was being booked into the Brownsville City Jail when a plastic bag with 41 baggies of crack cocaine fell from his crotch area during a routine strip search.
