Port of Brownsville Police Chief George Gavito confirmed the fire but could not immediately offer more details.

Officials report that a fire started at a fuel terminal at the RTW Terminals facilty off Anchor Road.

No injuries were reported but officials said the are has been evacuated and closed off.

Investigators said a tank containing "fatty oils" suffered a main valve rupture. As the oils were leaking out, a fire began.

Brownsville Fire Department and employees from ESCO Marine used a combination of water and foam to successfully extinguish the fire.

Authorities are monitoring the tank since it’s still spilling the oils.

Investigators said all the spilled contents will be contained within the berm.
