A 23-year-old Mission mother is facing charges this morning for intoxication manslaughter, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
State Trooper Johnny Hernandez says Nereyda Martinez was driving north on Iowa Road near Mile 8 1/2 around 7 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control and rolled over.
He says her 7-year-old daughter Carolina Martinez was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.
The girl reportedly died at the scene.
Trooper Hernandez said a one-year-old was also in the car but was not hurt.
