Here we go again.
The second tropical depression of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane season formed over the Gulf of Mexico late Wednesday night.
This one is headed to the southern end of the valley, making landfall near the Rio Grande Thursday afternoon.
At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the tropical depression was located about 265 miles ESE of Brownsville, moving Northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds at 35 mph.
The National Hurricane Center says the depression will likely strengthen and upgrade into a tropical storm before landfall.
If so, it would be named Bonnie.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the Texas coast from the Rio Grande to Baffin Bay.
Residents should be prepared for areas of flooding with this system dumping two to four inches of rain over the valley and isolated heavier amounts of six inches possible.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the entire Valley through Friday evening.
A Flood Warning has been issued for the Rio Grande at Rio Grande City.
