The National Weather Service reports there’s a tropical disturbance heading towards the Gulf of Mexico.

The tropical wave is currently near the northern Yucatan Peninsula.

Later this week, the tropical wave is projected to move toward South Texas.

There’s a 30 percent chance of it becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the tropical wave is causing a chance of showers today.

The chances increase tomorrow, and there’s a possibility that the showers will linger until Sunday.
