A Pharr man allegedly stabbed his wife to death early Saturday morning after he had apparently been drinking, police told Action 4 News.

Pharr Police responded to a call at 2:20 a.m. at a home on the 500 block of Fir Street.

They found the body of 50-year-old Dominga Garza in the front porch of the home.

"It’s gonna take some time to for them to recuperate it was a great loss, a great lady, an awesome person," Irma Garcia said.

She is the girlfriend of Garza's only son.

Police said the person allegedly responsible for the stabbing was 63 year old Noe Garza, Dominga’s husand.

"He seemed like a nice person but appearances can lie,” Garcia said. “He was always very violent whenever he got drunk."

The victim’s family said they have not seen her body yet and that they do not know when they will be able to.

In the meantime the family will be leaving to Corpus Christi, where they are originally from.

The case is under investigation and a motive has not yet been established.

Noe Garza was arraigned Saturday morning and charged with murder, he was given a $1,000,000 bond.
