A motorcyclist was issued a ticket Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle accident in Edinburg.

It happened near the intersection of McColl and Freddy Gonzalez roads.

Police were investigating the crash while the area was in the process of being “zapped” for a Streets of Speed episode.

The speed limit is an expressway-like 55 miles per hour.

A city police officer said the rider failed to control speed and did not have a proper motorcycle license.

He suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

Elsa Watts, an Edinburg mother who contacted the Speedzapper for help, said the area is a hotbed for speeders.
