A La Villa mother is behind bars for her 2-year-old son's death.
La Villa police arrested Sandra Reyna on Friday morning during her son's viewing at the Zavala Funeral Home in Edcouch.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Reyna is being charged in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son Austin Contreras.
The toddler was taken to the Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco where he was declared dead on arrival around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The boy's body was reportedly covered in bruises.
Police arrested Reyna's 32-year-old boyfriend Adan Acuña under a capital murder charge on Wednesday.
