Amber Alert issued for abducted Austin girl

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 13-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a 25-year-old man in Austin.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reported on its website that the girl's name is Karen Anastacio.

KEYE-TV from Austin reported that the 13-year-old girl is a student at Bedichek Middle School.

The Austin TV station reported she was at school on Thursday morning but got into a car belonging to a man that was not her father.

The Austin Police Department identified the suspect as Angel Rojas Ambrocio.

Austin police reported that the she may be in "grave or immediate" danger.

It's not clear if the two had a previous relationship but KEYE-TV reported that Ambrocio had committed a violent crime against Karen in the past.

They were last scene in a brown or silver Ford Expedition or Ford Explorer.

Karen Anastacio is described as:

  • Hispanic Female
  • 13 years old
  • 115 pounds
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • Had Pink Backpack


Angel Rojas Ambrocio was described as:

  • Hispanic Male
  • DOB: 05/3/1985
  • 5 feet 3 inches tall
  • 135 pounds
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes


Law enforcement agencies in Central Texas are on alert but some Rio Grande Valley law enforcment officials have also been notified.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Austin Police Department at (512) 974-0911.
