The American Consulate office in Reynosa is back open for business after being shut down for more than 10 days.
State Department officials closed the Reynosa office back on February 24th citing ongoing drug violence as the reason.
U.S. Consul Michael Barkin announced on Monday that the Reynosa was back open.
The U.S. Consulate General also resumed travel of official Americans officials to the troubled border city.
The office overseas services for Americans citizens living in Reynosa and surrounding communities.
The Reynosa closure did not affect services for Mexican nationals receiving visas and other services at the American Consulate in Matamoros.
Barkin said in a prepared statement that his office is grateful for the support it received from the authorities in Reynosa and from the State of Tamualipas.
The Consular Agency in Reynosa will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
