The two Democrat Party primary candidates for Hidalgo County Democratic District Attorney were busy today visiting polling places and posting up signs in their last attempt to get votes.
Fidencio Guerra, Jr. spent the day going from polling place to polling place posting his campaign signs.
He says he doesn't have any "politiqueras," but even without the help, he said he still thinks he has a good chance of winning.
"I believe I do have a chance," said Guerra, Jr. "I believe there is a silent majority out there that are tired with the system. They want new breath. They want something new. They want new leadership."
Rene Guerra said he has some supporters present at polling places but not many.
He said he doesn't think it's important to have many candidate supporters at the polling places.
"I don't think that the voter whose going to vote today is going to be persuaded by candidate supporters one way or another," said Guerra. "There's very few people who haven't formed an opinion on who they're going to vote for."
Alma Garza said she's been visiting the polling places not only to chat with supporters but also encourage everyone to vote.
"They should go out, and they should vote and make a difference," said Garza. "Some people say it's just one vote, but if you really think about it. That vote may make a difference between one person getting in or the other person getting into office."
