Edinburg elementary school under lockdown

An Edinburg elementary school remains under lockdown while police search for a burglary suspect.

Edinburg Police Chief Quirino Muñoz told Action 4 News that Truman Elementary School was placed under lockdown shortly before noon Wednesday.

Chief Muñoz said police officers are searching the area for a man who allegedly broke into a nearby home.

The school was notified of the search and placed under lockdown as a precaution.

Action 4 News will post more information as it becomes available.
