Santa Rosa homeowner catches burglars in the act

Two alleged burglars are behind bars after a Santa Rosa homeowner caught them in the act.

Pct. 7 deputy constables told Action 4 News that they arrested Lorenzo Altamirano, Jr. and Andres Rangel on multiple charges on Wednesday.

Investigators said they a local homeowner arrived and caught the two burglarizing his house off Thompson Road between La Feria and Santa Rosa.

The two allegedly hit the homeowner but he managed to chase them and call 911.

Deputies constables said they got there in time to catch both of the suspects, who led them on a chase in a car and then on foot.

They remain behind bars at the Cameron County Jail under burglary, aggravated assault and evading arrest charges.
