Brownsville police are investigating the death of a man in his late 60s, who collapsed while jogging this morning.

Police said neighbors saw the man collapse a park between Boca Chica and Resaca Boulevards around noon Friday.

Investigators said a concerned citizen called saying the jogger tried to wave him down and signal for help.

The passerby quickly ran over to help but it was too late – the man was already dead.

Police said the man who is described to be about 5-11 and 160 pounds -- was wearing a light sweater and warmers.

Investigators said they don’t exactly know why the man collapsed and died but authorities ordered an autopsy.

Meanwhile, neighbors say they can’t believe what happened.
