San Juan police are looking for a man involved in a weekend chase where authorities seized marijuana and a loaded rifle.

Police told Action 4 News that Martin Rios of San Juan failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Buffalo and Athol Streets.

The traffic stop allegedly lead to a short chase.

Rios and two other men bailed out of the car once it came to a stop.

San Juan Police Sgt. Rolando Garcia said they recovered marijuana and a loaded rifle inside the car.

"We're glad we pulled him over when we did,” Garcia said. “We're thinking that we prevented a bigger--violent incident from occurring and now that we have those weapons off the streets and in custody of the police. Hopefully that will ease up the tension."

Anyone with information about Rios’ whereabouts is asked to call the San Juan Crime Stoppers Hotline at (956) 283-TIPS or (956) 283-8477.
