Toyota announces its biggest U-S recall.
The car maker will replace gas pedals on 3.8 million vehicles that were recalled in September because of sudden acceleration issues.
Eight models of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including the Camry and Prius, are part of the recall.
Toyota will change the shape of the gas pedal, redesign the floor pan under the pedal and install a brake override system in some models.
In August, a 2009 Lexus E-S-350 was involved in a high-speed crash that killed a California Highway Patrol Officer and three members of his family.
A family member in the runaway vehicle made a frantic 9-1-1 call moments before the crash - saying the accelerator was stuck.
