A female Edinburg CISD bus driver has been suspended without pay for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old male student.
School district attorney Jacques Treviño identified the driver as Anna I. Gonzalez.
Administrators told Action 4 News that the accusations against the four-year veteran driver were made by the alleged victim in a statement to both the sheriff's department and school district.
Treviño told Action 4 News that the reported sexual relationship occurred back in June off school district property prompting the sheriff's office to investigate the case.
The Edinburg CISD attorney said Gonzalez is also facing child sex charges related to the case.
Administrators confirmed that Gonzalez was given sexual harassment training before the alleged incident.
The school district released the following statement in the case:
“The ECISD takes the allegations very seriously which is why swift action was taken against the driver. Anna I. Gonzalez will not be working in the district pending the outcome of the internal and criminal investigations.”
