As the booster seat law gets underway here in Texas, one valley hospital wants you to be ready.

Thats why on Septembr 18th the Edinburg Children's Hospital, along with the Hidalgo, Starr child fatality review team will be giving away car seats.

The only requirement is that they get educated on car seat safety first.

"The parents need to have a class and once they finish the class they are able to get that seat, " said Medical Director Teresa Camacho.

Three out of 4 times your child may not be as secure as you think.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, car accidents are the leading cause of death for booster seat age children in the U.S.

If you would like to register for the class or get more information you can call (956) 388-6519 or Safe Riders at 1-800-252-8255.
