A man accused in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Robstown could be hiding out along the border.

Robstown police told Action 4 News that Rafael Cardenas-Camacho is accused in the August 18th death of Sandra Zarafonetis.

Investigators said the 59-year-old woman was walking near her Robstown home when she was hit by white 2002 Ford F-250 being driven by Cardenas-Camacho.

Authorities said Cardenas-Camacho fled the scene and may be hiding out in his hometown Matamoros.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Cardenas-Camacho is an undocumented immigrant who had been living in Robstown for years before the  accident.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Robstown police at (361) 387-3531.
