Stun gun used in Harlingen shoplifting case

A Combes man is behind bars after he allegedly used a stun gun during a shoplifting incident at Valle Vista Mall in Harlingen.

Harlingen police arrested 38-year-old Angel Rodriguez on an aggravated robbery charge Sunday afternoon.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Rodriguez was caught shoplifting from the Dillard’s Department Stare inside the mall.

Rodriguez allegedly pulled out a stun gun and threatened a store security official who tried to detain him.

Store official called Harlingen police who were able to located and arrsted Rodriguez.

The 38-year-old Combes man remains in custody under a $30,000 bond.
