A manhunt is underway for a Santa Rosa man who escaped from police custody at the towns jail.
He is identified as 35 year old Miguel Ramirez.
Police descripe him as being 6 feet 1 inches about 250 pounds, last seen wearing a black shirt and pants.
Officers said he was last seen heading southbound towards San Antonio Street from the police jail along Highway 107.
Ramirez was arrested for illegally trying to sell a gun at a convenience store near FM 506 and 107.
A eyewitness reported the sale and contacted police.
A short time later Ramirez was pulled over and the unloaded gun was discovered along with a magazine.
