A man accused of posing as a police officer was back in court on Tuesday.

Juan Jose Muñoz was charged with aggravated kidnapping in connection with a home invasion off Trenton Road and Tower Road in Mission.

Authorities caught Muñoz over the weekend in Matamoros, Mexico.

He was originally wanted for the Mission home invasion, but the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department also believes he is connected to two more cases in the county.

A judge set his bond at $1 million.

"The reason the bond is high is because he has another pending charge out of Mission and he would be considered a flight risk, so the Sheriff and staff don't want to any chances," said Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Bobby Contreras.

If convicted, Muñoz faces up 99 years in prison.
