PHARR, TEXAS -- Pharr police made new appeals to the public Wednesday over a brutal hit and run accident.

Alberto Barajas is in critical condition after someone struck him with their car late Friday night.

Police said the driver slammed into Barajas on purpose.

The collision happened on 401 North Jackson Street in Pharr.

Police are looking for a red, 4-door Pontiac Grand Am.

A witness saw the passenger in the car and described him as a young Hispanic man wearing a white T-shirt.

Police released a composite sketch based on the description.

Anyone with information is urged to call Pharr police (956)784-7700.
