MISSION, TEXAS -- The city of Mission will hold a special election next month.

The election is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2009.

It will fill the seat left vacant by the untimely death of longtime city councilman Celestino Ramirez.

The retired school administrator died of pneumonia complications in May after serving the city for 16 years.
