A Harlingen man accused of kidnapping a Primera girl remains behind bars under $80,000 in bonds.
Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert following the Monday night abduction of 14-year-old Diana Izaguirre.
Brownsville police rescued Izaguirre and arrested her alleged kidnapper Victor Garcia on Tuesday afternoon.
Garcia was arraigned on marijuana charges in Brownsville on Wednesday morning where he was given a $5,000 bond.
The kidnapping suspect was taken to the Cameron County Annex outside Harlingen where he was arraigned for a third-degree felony kidnapping charge.
A justice of the peace presiding over the hearing gave Garcia a $75,000 bond for the kidnapping charge.
Garcia told the judge that he's not guilty of kidnapping.
The Harlingen man claimed in the Brownsville courtroom that Izaguirre told him, "Hey baby, I know you didn't do anything."
If convicted, Garcia could face two years to ten years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
