BROWNSVILLE -- Veterans in Cameron County were given the opportunity to enroll this weekend for VA benefits.

The enrollment fair was hosted by Valley Baptist Hospital in Brownsville and was the latest in a series of fairs to get valley veterans signed up for medical benefits available to them.

The Veteran’s Alliance hopes to enroll as many as they can to show Washington the great need for a VA hospital here in the valley.

“There's a lot of folks out there that served our country bravely that may not have the benefits that they need cause they're not aware of them," said Valley Baptist CEO Lesley Bingham.

There are plans to schedule another enrollment fair at Valley Baptist in the near future.
