HARLINGEN -- A group of Valley doctors are on their way to Haiti to deliver much needed health care.

Harlingen Medical Center, along with the ‘Aliansa Cristiana,’ has a group of physicians that are ready to travel to the island of Haiti on Tuesday.

The program will assist in turning a school into a hospital where the doctors will deliver healthcare services to children, women and men.

Action 4 news caught up with one the doctors.

"There's a lot of poverty, there's a lot of need, but helping one person is better than helping none" said Dr. Miguel Citrion, Valley Medical Center.

The group consists of at least 30 physicians; 5 of whom are from the Valley.
