Court documents show that a Hidalgo County caseworker arrested in a sexual harassment case had previous complaints against him.
Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Serjio Hinojosa on official oppression charges on Monday.
Sheriff's officials said Hinojosa is a caseworker with the Hidalgo County Health Department office at 300 E. Hackberry Ave. in McAllen.
Investigators said the arrest was the result of a 12-week investigation into sexual harassment claims filed by a client seeking medical care at the clinic.
The woman alleges that Hinojosa told her that she would need to kiss him and sit on his lap if she wanted to be approved for medical assistance.
A probable cause affidavit obtained by Action 4 News shows that Hinojosa told her that “she was prettier in person” and that he insisted on receiving the kiss after approving her for public assistance.
The affidavit states that deputies looked into Hinojosa’s background and discovered he had five similar sexual harassment complaints against him while working for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
