A new federal grant is headed to Hidlago County to help fight crime.

The sheriff's department will receive a new crime investigations unit with the funds.

Sheriff Lupe Treviño told Action 4 News that the new unit will help investigators get to crime scenes faster.

The 4x4 unit will allow investigators to travel through rough terrain in rural areas of the county.
