Border Patrol unit in rollover accident outside Brownsville

State troopers are investigating the cause of a rollover accident involving a Border Patrol unit just outside Brownsville city limits.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials told Action 4 News that the accident happened after 8 a.m. Wednesday off Southmost Road and Oklahoma Avenue.

DPS state troopers said the accident involved a rollover with a Border Patrol unit.

The Border Patrol agent's condition is not known at this time but Brownsville firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene.

It's not clear how the accident started but Action 4 News will continue to provide updates as they become available.
