Man drowns in accident off Port Mansfield jetties

Authorities told Action 4 News that a 22-year-old man drowned at the Port Mansfield jetties early Sunday morning.

Rescuers were called 30 miles north of Beach Access 6 on South Padre Island around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Eliazar Bernal was apparently driving an ATV along the canal when he fell inside.

Search and rescue crews later found his body in the Gulf of Mexico.
