DONNA, TEXAS -- A female driver who hit a Donna high school student with her vehicle on Tuesday will not be charged for the accident.
The collision happened just before classes on the 700 block of East Murphy in Donna.
Police said the driver was headed eastbound on Murphy and she did not see the teenager on his bicycle because of the sun's glare.
Police said she will not be charged.
"She did stop and render aid on the young man and called the ambulance," said Donna Police Chief Ruben DeLeon. "The ambulance got there in about 11 minutes and the kid was taken to Knapp Hospital."
Chief DeLeon said the teenager suffered several injuries, including a broken leg.
The 17 year old continues to recover from his injuries.
