ELSA, TEXAS -- A business run by an Edcouch-Elsa school board trustee was busted for allegedly operating gambling machines.

Investigators from the Hidalgo County District Attorney's office found the 8-liners while following up on an anonymous tip.

The tipster claimed the Full Court Entertainment Bar and Grill on FM 88 in Elsa is paying out cash and giving bar tabs as prizes.

Investigators said that is illegal.

"Some places are operating gambling places where they're giving out a box of candy or cleaning products," investigator Charlie Vela said.  "Well that's illegal also, because what they are doing is they are actually giving out credit to the point that that's how they get their gifts," said Vela.

Our attempts to reach the bar manager, Juan Ibarra, were unsuccessful.
