Snow in Amarillo, 80 degrees in the Valley

A cold front is tearing its way through Texas leaving snow in the Panhandle, severe weather in North and Central Texas but 80-degree weather in the Rio Grande Valley.

Temperatures in the Texas Panhandle dipped into the 20s overnight Monday.

Amarillo residents woke up to snow on Tuesday morning.

The Associated Press is reported that one person was hurt after 20 homes homes were damaged by severe weather in Denison.

Several thousand people were left without electricity in North Texas.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Waco area for part of Tuesday morning.

The cold front is expected to continue its path and reach the Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday night where overnight lows are expected to dip into the 40s.
