A mini-van carrying elderly people was involved in a rollover accident sending four to the hospital.

Texas Department of Public Safety state troopers said the accident happened at the intersection of FM 2812 and Doolittle Road near Edinburg around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

State troopers said a van from Southwest Transportation Services collided with a pick-up that was trying to make a left hand turn onto Doolittle Road.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash but believe the collision caused the mini-van to flip.

Rene Mireles told Action 4 News that he helped a woman trapped inside.

"The lady was screaming for life crying, she was stuck with the seatbelt, she couldn't get lose so i jumped inside the van and found a way to get the seatbelt off of her," Mireles said. "She couldn't get up. She was a little heavy lady. She couldn't climb to the top of the van to get out, so i picked her up from her legs enough so she could come out through the top."
