Three women are facing criminal charges after they allegedly all participated in a scheme to falsify time sheets at a home health care agency.

Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Manuela Garza, Nerissa Morales and Martha Minerva Treviño earlier this week.

Court records show that the three women are all charged with second-degree felony tampering with a government record charges.

Investigators reported that all three women worked for the Los Fresnos-based Elite PHC Primary Health Care.

The company’s owner could not immediately reached for comment but court records show that company conducted an internal audit back in November.

According to the records, the audit revealed that Morales falsified more than $7,540 dollars worth of time and Garza falsified $372 worth of time.

Both Morales and Garza falsely claimed to be taking care of Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services patients in Brownsville.

Investigators allege that Treviño knew about the scheme and helped Morales falsify her records.

Records show that the company's owner Gaines L. Burns came forward and decided to press charges.

All three women have been released after posting $20,000 dollar bonds.
