An ICE agent is out on bond after being accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend in Harlingen.

Harlingen police arrested 29-year-old Steven Michael Rossello on multiple criminal charges on Wednesday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that an employee at the Sierra Apartments off Haine Drive flagged a patrol officer down.

Rossello was allegedly seen waiting outside his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

The woman broke up with him but filed a police report for harassment in December alleging that the kept sending her “annoying and alarming” e-mails.

The patrol officer pulled over Rossello’s BMW and saw and handgun in the glove box when the ICE agent was looking for his proof of insurance.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Rossello had been seen waiting outside the victim’s apartment for several hours at a time on several different occasions over the past few weeks.

Officers arrested Rossello on criminal trespass, unlawful carrying a weapon and stalking charges.

Rossello faced a Harlingen Municipal Court judge on Thursday morning where he was issued $34,000 dollars in bonds.

U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials declined to comment about the incident.

But federal court records revealed a lawsuit filed by Rossello against pharmaceutical company Merck where he said he was stripped of his badge, gun and his rank as a special agent last year.

According to the lawsuit, Rossello now has a desk job where he does criminal background checks.

The New York native blames sexual side effects and other problems he attributes to use of the hair loss drug Propecia.

The next court hearing for the lawsuit is set for January 9th.
